JOB OVERVIEW /

As a CNC Machine Operator you will be responsible for loading & operating a variety of machines including our Esprit Viper flat bed plasma cutter, PythonX plasma coping machine & Akyapak cut & drill line in order to prepare structural steel for fabrication. You will need to work efficiently & safely to ensure production deadlines are met.

JOB TITLE / CNC Machine Operator NIGHTS

LOCATION / On-site

JOB TYPE / Full-time, permanent

RATE / £15.50 p/h

HOURS / 20:00 – 06:00, Monday – Thursday (4x 10 hour shifts with one paid 30 min. break per shift)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES /

* Operate a variety of CNC machines as directed by your line manager.

* Load & unload materials (this may require use of an overhead crane & other heavy machinery)

* Manual lifting & manoeuvring of materials.

* Adjust machine settings to desired product specification.

* Use operating system to select & run pre-designed production programmes.

* Coordinate with purchasing to maintain inventory of tooling to avoid downtime.

* Implement routine machine cleaning & maintenance, focusing on preventive maintenance.

* Assist in quality control during manufacturing stage.

* Troubleshoot issues to help reduce breakdowns & downtime,

* Train new & existing staff on machine operation procedures (as and when required).

* Adhere to all Health & Safety & company standards.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE /

* Previous engineering/manufacturing experience (preferably with structural steelwork).

* Strong understanding of CNC machinery.

* Analytical & good problem solving abilities..

* Good communication at all levels.

* Ability to work under pressure & meet strict deadlines.

* Competent in reading & interpreting technical drawings (Tekla Structures).

* Able to work alone as well as within a team.

* Safety conscious.

* Fork lift truck & overhead crane licences (preferred, however training can be provided).
