Job Title: Band 5 – Recovery Worker

Location: Wolverhampton

Working Hours: Full-Time (08:00 – 16:00 or 09:00 – 17:00)

Contract Duration: 12 weeks, with an immediate start

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 5 Recovery Worker to join our team at HMP Featherstone in Wolverhampton. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals dealing with substance misuse issues within a prison environment. The role requires working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support and recovery services to inmates.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one and group support to individuals experiencing substance misuse issues.

* Develop and implement personalized recovery plans in collaboration with clients and the multidisciplinary team.

* Conduct regular assessments and reviews of client progress, adjusting care plans as needed.

* Deliver evidence-based interventions and support to encourage positive behavioral change.

* Facilitate workshops and educational sessions on substance misuse and recovery strategies.

* Work closely with prison staff and external agencies to ensure coordinated care and support.

* Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress in accordance with legal and organizational standards.

* Contribute to the development of a safe and supportive environment within the prison.

Essential Requirements:

* Substance Misuse Experience: Demonstrable experience working with individuals affected by substance misuse is essential.

* Prison Clearance: Candidates must have current and valid prison clearance to be considered for this role.

Desirable Skills:

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively within a team.

* Knowledge of the criminal justice system and the specific challenges faced by individuals within a prison setting.

* Ability to manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of care.
