Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in forensic analysis to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating and analyzing geotechnical failures, providing expert insights, and developing solutions to prevent future issues. This role requires a deep understanding of soil mechanics, site investigations, and forensic engineering techniques.
This position will report to a Principal or designee level staff member within our Engineering division. The position will involve a variety of general functions, including but not limited to:
Provide in-depth geotechnical forensic investigations to determine the causes of failures and soil-related issues.
Perform detailed site assessments and soil sampling to collect relevant data.
Analyze soil, rock, and underground conditions to assess stability and potential risks.
Develop and validate models to predict soil behavior under various conditions.
Provide recommendations for remediation and prevention of geotechnical failures.
Organize and coordinate with field and laboratory staff to complete explorations and lab testing.
Provide recommendations for construction projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other service divisions to develop innovative engineering solutions.
Assist in the resolution of technical claims/disputes.
Write/Prepare technical reports and documentation for project findings and deliverables.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory codes – buildings, structures, site work, and safety.
Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
