At United Living, we have one of the largest specialist in-house teams for project management, acquisition, design, construction, and maintenance in the UK.

Job Description

Summary of Position

The post holder will be joining an experienced, specialist new build housing contractor, who have a strong pipeline of projects. Capitalising on their growing reputation, expanding client base and strong position, in the development of single family through to multi-family high-rise properties.

As the business expands and the need for ensuring compliance grows, it has been identified that a role focusing on Construction Quality is essential.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and implement an ISO accredited quality management system within our high rise/mixed use and residential business units
Ensure that the company fulfils its obligations with regards to building control, building safety regulator
Ensure that projects maintain the golden thread of information
Oversee the roll out of the new Quality systems
Oversee the team of quality advisors / inspectors enforcing the system
Work with the Head of Design and Technical in managing risks within the design process
Produce Technical Guidance Notes and Quality Toolbox talks and oversee their roll out with your team of inspections/ advisors
Develop and maintain company relationships with Building Safety Regulator(HSE), Building Control & Warranty providers
Develop Quality KPIs and monitor trends in order to advise on common issues.
Audit use of the system and provide monthly reports to operations and board directors
Assist in the process of finding innovative and economical detail improvements to drive quality and reduce cost.
Promote a right first-time culture on site to prevent delays, re-work, and re-visits.
Maintain an awareness of current material and construction legislation & research.
Keep up to date with the latest technological advances, giving recommendations or warnings as appropriate.
Develop a technical CPD programme for all staff ensuring knowledge is maintainedExperience

Experience in high rise / commercial construction as well as housebuilding (essential)
Experience of policy, process and procedure writing
Extensive work experience within the construction industry.
Minimum of 5 years experience in similar role.
Knowledge of both Single Family and Highrise projects.
Use of the Aconex Field or similar electronic Quality Management software

Qualifications

Qualifications & Training

Construction related degree or diploma. (preferred not essential)
Professional membership of (MCIOB/MCABE/MICWCI). (preferred not essential)
Relevant Construction Skills Certificate Card
Proficient in Microsoft office
Valid UK driving Licence.

Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
Positive, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously/remotely on several projects at once.
Ability to monitor and check works or information and plan time and resources efficiently even under the pressure of multiple demands.
