ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT

Summary:

Personally performs or directs activities of electrical workers performing wiring, terminations, input-output connections, and troubleshooting on systems integration projects as well as electrical panels in the shop and the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Studies drawings, schematics, and specifications for electrical work on the basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each project phase.

Assists with project proposals by providing estimated labor time and costs.

Assembles members of the organization to procure proper technician staffing for each project.

Purchases wiring, parts, and materials to be delivered to meet project needs on a timely basis.

Schedules and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in performing electrical work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.

Schedules electricians and other resources to help in other areas of the company, including the panel shop and building maintenance when needed.

Trains electricians and helpers to ensure adherence to project requirements and schedules.

Confers with personnel to resolve issues with customers and employees.

Confers with project managers, contractors, and customers to update schedules and status on a weekly basis.

Troubleshoot electrical panels without schematics and drawings.

Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to quality specifications and the adherence to schedules as well as housekeeping standards.

Updates drawings, schematics, and other required documentation as needed.

Develops and utilizes tools to track the workforce, including checklists, punch lists, site inspections, and housekeeping.

Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or completion of an electrical apprenticeship plus one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
