We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Building Surveyor to join the team. This permanent position focuses on conducting day-to-day responsive repair surveys and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our housing standards and ensuring the wellbeing of our residents.

Description

Conduct day-to-day responsive repair surveys to identify and diagnose maintenance issues in our housing stock.
Perform HHSRS assessments to ensure all properties comply with health and safety regulations.
Provide detailed reports and recommendations based on survey findings.
Liaise with contractors, residents, and other stakeholders to coordinate repair works and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Monitor and manage the quality of repair works carried out by external contractors.
Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of surveys, assessments, and repairs.
Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance strategies and policies.

Profile

Degree/HNC or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field.
Relevant experience in conducting building surveys and HHSRS assessments, preferably within the social housing sector.
Strong knowledge of building construction, repair techniques, and health and safety regulations.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in using surveying software and other relevant IT tools.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritising work effectively.
