My client is a well-established specialist in the overhaul and dismantle of motors, pumps and gearboxes. Due to ongoing success, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to work both in their workshop and out in the field. The successful candidate will have a background in mechanical fitting of gearboxes and be based within commutable distance of East London.

Mechanical Fitter Position Overview

Working in a large workshop
Carrying out repairs, dismantle and overhaul on gearboxes, bearings and shafts and rollers
Using lathes, drilling and milling machines
Fitters are required to travel to client sites as required. This will mainly be around London and the South East, with occasional trips to the Midlands and North. A van pool is provided for this.
Carrying out servicing at client sites
Fulfilling duties as instructed by workshop management

Mechanical Fitter Position Requirements

A background in any of the following: gearboxes, bearings and shafts, rollers. Car mechanics considered.
CSCS Card beneficial
Able to use hydraulic presses beneficial
Able to measure to tolerance and size beneficial
Based within commutable distance of East London
UK Driving Licence

Mechanical Fitter Position Remuneration

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + overtime
Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x for Sundays
Extra pay for being on rota
Hours Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00, Weekends optional
25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
