Responsibilities:

Our Registered Nurses in Labor & Delivery independently perform clinical care to patients.  Working with a dedicated team, the Registered Nurse provides evidence-based, high quality care in labor & delivery, OB operating room, and triage area. Primary care of the antepartum and immediate post-partum High risk obstetrical patient, and serves as a resource for other team members. Our Labor and Delivery Unit, part of the Family Childbirth and Children’s Center at Mercy performs between 250-300 births per month.

Qualifications:

Diploma/degree from an accredited nursing school (a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, or agreement to enroll within six months of employment)

Registered Nurse license to practice in Maryland or the ability to obtain a Maryland license based on timeframe of licensing board

1-2+ years of clinical nursing experience is strongly preferred; new graduates with focused practicum or technician experience in L&D will be considered.

Healthcare Provider-Level CPR certification

Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP)

EfM  (external fetal monitoring)certification within 18 months of hire
