Responsibilities Include::

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner functions as the attending and will be responsible for care and treatment for the patients in our  Residential psychiatric program in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Walden Behavioral Care. The responsibilities include: the psychiatric evaluation, suicide risk assessments, medication management, progress notes, collaboration with outpatient providers, meeting with the family and discharge planning. 

Qualifications::

Education: 

Graduate of an accredited program.

 Experience: 

Minimum of 2 years' prior relevant experience required

Experience in inpatient level of care, preferred

 Licensure/Certification: 

Licensed in the state of Massachusetts in Advanced Nursing

Current CPR Certification

 Knowledge: 

Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management

 Required competencies: 

Strong organizational and communication skills

Attention to detail and ability to prioritize independently

Ability to multi-task in a changing and fast paced mental health environment

Ability to work in a highly collaborate, team environment

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

 Supervision Received: 

Reports to Medical Director

 Environmental Conditions: 

General hospital environment.
