Overview:

Maintenance Assistant

The Gardens Health and Rehabilitation is currently seeking a part-time maintenance assistant to uphold safety standards while effectively maintaining the facility's grounds and equipment. This role plays a crucial part in creating a compassionate environment for residents by promptly addressing their needs.

Shift: Full Time & Part Time - 24 hours a week and every other weekend.

Qualifications:

Qualifications of Maintenance Assistant:

HS diploma or GED

6 months of maintenance experience 

Sound knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical wiring.

The ability to safely operate hand and power tools as well as cleaning equipment.

The ability to lift heavy objects.







Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of Maintenance Assistant:

Must be proficient in performing technical skills required of a maintenance assistant.

Must be energetic, professional, and reliable.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.

Receive and follow maintenance schedule or instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.

Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as directed.

Perform routine maintenance and repair on the Facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.

Clean windows and screens, as directed.

Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties, wherever necessary.

Service heating and cooling units and systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.

Turn in all found articles to your supervisor.
