Overview:

Since the doors opened more than 59 years ago, UF Health Leesburg Hospital has continued to build upon its reputation as a leading medical center and the most comprehensive provider of health care services in the region. The hospital offers advanced cardiovascular care, including one of the largest open-heart programs in Florida. The American College of Cardiology has recognized UF Health Leesburg Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain by awarding a Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primacy PCI and Resuscitation — its highest and best level of accreditation. The hospital also offers world-class orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic surgery, life-saving emergency care, stroke treatment, labor & delivery, and so much more.

What is great about this unit?

This unit’s leader is innovative and brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. She is able to put a fresh perspective on things and be a positive change agent.  She started her healthcare career in a Secretary position and transitioned to a nurse.  Through hard work and dedication, she has become an amazing nurse leader. She is able to understand each role that her team members are in and has an understanding of each of the hardships that come with them. Her leadership style is three-fold: transitional, coaching and pace-setting.   She encourages new ideas and new ways of doing things for her team in order to foster positive outcomes. She prides herself on the ability to encourage and uplift each individual to fulfill their professional potential.

Once of the great things about this unit is that every week, the Team Member recognition board is highlighted and championed.  She believes in recognition and letting her team know that they are doing a great job. Often, treats are made for the unit to say, “thank you”.  Starbucks rewards are given as incentives for floating, improving scores, and doing awesome things on the unit.

By leading from the front and utilizing her pacesetting leadership style, our Nurse Manager is able to uphold high standards and lay out clear expectations.  She has an open-door policy and makes herself available for both shifts.  “This is our community; it is our mission to ensure quality care is being delivered day in a day out.” “I am not afraid to jump in and help. I’ve been in your shoes, I’ve lived through the struggles, and together we will be solution-focused to any barriers that come our way”.

We are searching for like-minded individuals to become a part of our team!
