Overview:
The Cook Family Health Center provides primary healthcare services for Bloomington-area Cook Group company employees and their families.
The Medical Assistant provides high-quality patient care by supporting providers and patients through various tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Responsibilities:
Patient Intake & Assisting Provider
Setting up equipment and assisting during exams and procedures
Collecting lab specimens
Phlebotomy
Patient Education & Communication
Administer medication/Injections
Schedule outside appointments
Order stock
Manage disposal of biohazards
Electrocardiogram
Sterile technique
Clean and stock exam rooms/lab
Electronic Health Records data entry
Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels
Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
Must have effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
Must strictly adhere to and enforce Cook Clinic Employee Manual, Cook Code of Conduct, HIPAA & OSHA regulations
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1-2 years technician experience in medical office environment
Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience required
Previous multi-line phone & customer service experience required
Current CMA or LPN preferred
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Ability to walk & stand for long periods of time
Able to bend, stoop, kneel or crouch
Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
Able to lift 20+ pounds occasionally
