Overview:

Burlington Stores is a nationally recognized off-price retailer and we are growing!  If you have experience in Payroll Operations and would like to take your career to the next level, we have an opportunity as a Payroll Accounting Manager. The manager will directly manage, and provide strategic, tactical, and operational leadership for the development, and sustainment of systems, processes, and resources for enterprise Payroll operations.

A Day In The Life:

Oversee the team of accountants to ensure all reconciliation and analysis of related balance sheet accounts, inventory accounts, ledgers, and journals are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Oversee reconciliations and balancing between third-party tax reports and payroll tax summary reports to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.  Maintain accurate records of quarterly and annual returns filed by third-party service provider or self-filed.

Oversee the unemployment claims processing and related rate analysis; including the relationship with vendors and various agencies.

Develops and maintains departmental policies and procedures.

Work on special projects and coordinates with other departments such as Human Resources, Finance, etc. as needed

You'll Come With: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent experience (business, finance, accounting preferred)

3-5 years of relevant experience in Accounting

Experience in managing or supervising a team is preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

In-depth knowledge of accounting practices and procedures, payroll tax laws and regulations

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
