My client is looking for a Payroll Assistant to administer payroll, complete weekly checks, and support Managers with employee payments. The ideal candidate needs to have a passion for payroll and be self-motivated to ensure that month-end balances are accurate.

Although the payroll is monthly, it is calculated and checked weekly. This is a fast-paced environment but very enjoyable!

My client uses a fully automated system called iTrent.

Job Responsibilities:

Verify weekly payments and absences that have been input by Managers.
Identify and potentially rectify any discrepancies.
Upload and check data spreadsheets into the payroll system.
Create reports with information pertaining to payroll.
Handle voluntary and involuntary deductions.
Enter changes to employee payroll and HR records.
Reconcile the monthly payroll with generated reports.
Action leavers and any department transfers (approximately 40-60 per month).
Track underlying trends with issues such as absence.
Communicate with Managers and employees regarding changes in role, salary, benefits, etc.
Support the HR function with uniform ordering and invoice reconciliation.
Maintain awareness of pension legislation and reporting.
Provide overall administrative support to the HR department, including maintaining and processing documentation and records.
The Candidate:

Payroll experience is essential.
Knowledge of Midland HR/iTrent HR/Payroll is desirable.
Candidates must be highly proficient in Excel.
The role reports directly to the HR & Payroll Manager.
The successful candidate will be part of a small team but should be equally happy working independently. This is a part-time role; however, when the HR & Payroll Manager is absent, it may be necessary to work overtime to ensure the smooth running of the Department.

Details:
The salary is based on 18 hours per week, with a full-time equivalent (FTE) of £24,500 per annum.
The hours of work are Monday 9.00am - 5.00pm, with flexible hours for Friday and one other day of the week. (your choice) Around 18 - 20 hours as week.
