Mechanical Assembler - Instrument Technician

Job is actually called Electromechanical assembler but 70% of the job is Mechanical Assembly with “some” pre-formed wiring and some soldering.

Hours are from 8am to 4:30pm Mon-Friday.

Company employ 150 people at site

Types of products- Laboratory machines/Analysers/Test machines/Scientific Instruments

Key Responsibilities:

Complete mechanical assembly of instruments from component parts

Manufacture and installation of wiring looms (using techniques, such as, soldering and

crimping). Note training will be given if you do not have these skills

Testing and fault finding on instruments.

Provision of occasional support to the Service & Repair department, options exist to visit

customer sites in the UK.

Ensure that all H&SE policies and the company ISO guidelines are adhered to during

manufacture/assembly/repair of instruments.

Participation in the ISO9001 and ISO14001 standard development and maintenance

Experience Required:

Experience with precision Mechanical OR electro-mechanical assemblies is

essential.

A solid background in both mechanical fitting and electrical assembly.

Ability to read and interpret engineering instructions, drawings and

BOM’s.

Take pride in producing high quality work. Good attention to detail.

Organised and able to prioritise.

Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
