Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Job Summary:
As an Operating Room RN, you will play a critical role in providing nursing care to patients within the surgical environment. You will ensure that patient care meets recognized Standards of Practice, State Practice Act Standards, and follows the facilitys protocols, policies, and procedures. Your main responsibility will be supervising and directing patient care in a single operating room, working closely with the surgical team to provide safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the operating room.
Supervise and direct patient care in compliance with recognized standards and protocols.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using paper charting.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Monitor and assess patients' conditions before, during, and after surgery.
Adhere to safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and best practices in perioperative care.
Participate in preoperative planning and postoperative follow-up as required.
Maintain a sterile environment and manage surgical instruments and supplies.
Education, Licensure, and Certification Requirements:
Required:
Current NY State RN license
Minimum of two years of Operating Room nursing experience
BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS certification preferred)
Preferred:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Experience in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
Specialty certification in a related area
