Metalis are working with a manufacturing company who due to growth are needing a facilities technician to join their friendly and growing team. The company has lots of opportunities for growth/development and are looking for an ambitious candidate to make this position their own.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide general and detailed maintenance including painting, hardware repairs and other repair / replacement work as required.
Perform routine daily inspections of assigned buildings and spaces.
Perform weekly routine site and statutory checks.
Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance.
Maintain appropriate service and repair records.
Undertake ordering of tools, components, parts and equipment from a range of suppliers to self-manage the work required.
Record spare parts used so replacements can be ordered.
Store all spare parts in a safe, secure, clean state, clearly identified/labelled
Assist maintenance employees where required.
Completes all documentation for all work performed, in a timely manner.
Comply to site EHS processes and procedures at all times.
Understands and employs correct isolation techniques and aware of safety obligations.
Assess and recommend tasks for new and improved services on site where required
Identify repeat faults and suggest improvements.
Ensure that the areas under your control are kept clean and tidy.
Proven communication and diplomacy skills.
IT literate and competent in the use of MS Office applications.
Any other general tasks as requested by the Maintenance & Facilities Manager

Skills and Experience:

Energetic and positive approach with a can do attitude.
Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities technician role.
Ability to work well with others as well as on your own.
Flexible and open to change.
Understands and employs correct isolation techniques, and is aware of safety obligations.
Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and custodial hand and electric powered tools.
Detail orientation with a mind-set towards meeting Brett Martins high standards for the maintenance of facilities.
Logical problem solving ability.
Proven communication and diplomacy skills.
IT literate and competent in the use of MS Office applications.
Well organised and methodical.
Able to plan work to balance conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Able to keep cool in a crisis.
Reliable attendance and good timekeeping.
Willingness to continuously develop and be trained on equipment and qualifications.
Comfortable with working at heights.
Proven communication and diplomacy skills.
Well organised and methodical.
Able to plan work to balance conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
Reliable attendance and good timekeeping.
Flexible and able to respond to occasional unusual working hours and weekends.
Ability to work well in a team and also on your own
Basic electrical knowledge.
Basic mechanical knowledge

Desirable:

Experience using MEWP's
Experience with computer network systems.
IT literate and competent in the use of MS Office applications.
Qualified Electrician.
IOSH/NEBOSH.Hours and Pay:

Days Regular, 39hrs per week.
Monday to Thursday 7am - 4pm and Friday 7am - 3pm
Chance of O/T on weekends
£28,000 per year
