This role is based in Maidstone on a hybrid working arrangement.
We are pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for a Cloud Engineer within our IT Department. This role will report to the Head of IT. The Cloud Engineer will support the technical strategy in alignment with Apogee’s business goals and imperatives. The Cloud Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining cloud resources. Reporting to the Head of IT, the Cloud Engineer will work closely with the Technical Architect to provision cloud resources that best meet the needs of the organisation; complying with IT policy and compliance standards and supporting the organisation's migration to the Cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain existing cloud resources; VMs, Storage, Databases, Kubernetes, etc.
Ensure resources are kept up to date; Software patches installed.
Assist with cost control; Monitor resource use and suggest areas of improvement.
Recommend and deploy new resources based on target objectives.
Work on projects to improve system reliability, security, and compliance of cloud resources.
Document issues and suggest improvements, including the completion of RCAs for any outages.
Work closely with the wider IT team to migrate services from on-prem to cloud.
Communicate effectively to ensure a controlled approach for all changes.
Provide advice to customer-facing departments & teams to assist with customer inquiries.
Share knowledge with the wider IT team to ensure operational resilience.
Provide weekly progress updates on long-term projects.
Create & maintain strong documentation on delivered solutions
