Are you passionate about managing risk, creating strong control environments, and fostering a culture of effective governance? We are seeking a dynamic Risk & Controls Manager to join our client, oversee and enhance our Risk and Controls framework.

In this key role, you will partner with stakeholders across the business, providing expert advice and support to ensure risks are identified, articulated, and effectively managed. You'll play a pivotal role in driving a comprehensive control testing programme while continuously scanning for emerging risks and reporting findings to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advisory Role: Partner with Risk and Control Owners to provide guidance, ensuring they understand their risk profile and are accountable for managing it effectively.
• Control Testing: Conduct independent controls testing, identify gaps, and suggest improvements.
• Risk Oversight & Reporting: Lead the preparation and presentation of risk management data to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication across all levels.
• Operational Event Management: Support the management and review of operational events, driving root cause analysis and lessons learned.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong experience in managing risk management frameworks, with specific expertise in control testing.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and drive a risk-aware culture.
• Analytical mindset, with a keen eye for identifying risks and proposing effective control measures.
• Experience in a regulated lending environment or exposure to conduct risk and consumer duty is beneficial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets; database management experience is a plus.
