Global Insurance/Reinsurance business are looking to add two Senior R Modelling Actuary contractors to their Model Development and Analytics team in Actuarial Control, to build a tool that enables reserving actuaries to fulfil responsibilities under quarterly closing process, also allowing them to substantiate and perform ad hoc enquiries.

As well as proven R Programming skills you will need solid actuarial/Insurance domain knowledge in either Life and Health (L&H) or Property & Casualty (P&C) and ideally an appreciation of IFRS17.

The team work with an Agile workflow in small teams and use Azure DevOps to track and plan work. They use R for the solution development and are looking for someone with very strong R development skills (not just Scripting) and ideally exposure to newer technologies such as data.table, Rcpp, Arrow, DuckDB.

Familiarity with Posit Workbench, Posit Connect, Posit Package Manager will be beneficial.

Strong communications skills required.

As long as you are UK based, you can be fully remote if you prefer. Equally the London office is available as is the hiring manager.
