Custodian - Facilities
Multiple locations – San Francisco/Alameda

Job Description
Under supervision, performs routine manual cleaning task in public facilities and related duties as required. Employees are responsible for following established methods and procedures in the application of simple manual skills and use of cleaning tools, equipment and supplies to clean interiors and exterior of facilities buildings. The nature of work requires sustained physical effort involving continuous light work and occasional heavy work in moving or lifting furniture and equipment, with some exposure to accident and injury hazards and disagreeable elements.
Specific Responsibilties
JANITORIAL:
Clean, disinfect and restock bathrooms.
Sweeps, and mops daily
Clean and polish all furniture, stainless, metals and interior glass windows and doors
Collect trash, set trash container outside depending on site.
The care and operation of electrical janitorial equipment
Vacuum hallways, staircases, offices, vent filters, etc.
Safety practice knowledge of material, chemicals disinfectants and equipment.
Keep Coffee area clean and make three to four pots daily.
Setting up meeting rooms as needed by Facilities Director.
Addressing staff request daily.
MAINTANENCE:
Some maintenance is required. (Changing light bulbs, power washing outside of building sites, assisting with move, assembling, and arranging furniture.)
Unplugging sinks and toilets.
TRASH AND GARBAGE DISPOSAL
Disposes of all trash from offices daily.
Taking out and bringing in garbage cans on assigned days.
Changing trash bag if wet and twice a week.
SECURITY
Check and turn off all lights and fans, close, lock and secure all windows and doors at end closing shift.
OTHER DUTIES:
Fulfill the duties of absence, vacation, or job vacancy positions at multiple sites.
Assist with special projects.
Other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience as a custodian is a plus but not required
Ability to speak, read, and write English adequately to the meet the needs of the job.
Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Salary: $23 per hour
