Overview:
ATCC is seeking a direct hire Project Manager onsite 5 days/wk in Frederick, MD. This position directly supports the program management office of the NCI at Frederick Central Repository operations contract. This role requires hands-on repository work, handling specimens at a range of temperatures from ambient to as low as -196C in liquid nitrogen.
Responsibilities:
Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee daily project activities, applying organizational best practices from ideation to closure.
Process Improvement: Evaluate and improve current processes, implement new technologies, analyze large data sets, ensuring consistency and efficiency for strategic goal achievement.
Progress Tracking and Communication: Track project progress, milestones, and metrics, compiling status summaries for transparent communication.
Stakeholder Interaction and Consistency: Interface with stakeholders including repository staff and clients, gather data for consistency, evaluate project objectives and scope, and provide reporting to stakeholders.
Risk, Issue, and Change Management: Identify and manage risk, issue, and change resolution, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
Hands-on repository work, handling specimens at a range of temperatures from ambient to as low as -196C in liquid nitrogen is required.
Working knowledge of Information Management Service, Inc. (IMS) Biological Specimen Inventory (BSI) system preferred.
PMP Preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong skills in analysis, planning and organization, and pay rigorous attention to detail to coordinate resources and activities.
Ability to build working relationships with people in the project team and stakeholders in the wider business is vital to business success.
Staff hired for the NCI Central Repository Program must be eligible to obtain an NIH Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card by submitting a Declaration of Federal Employment form within 60 days (about 2 months) of employment. See links below for eligibility which includes obtaining a Public Trust Clearance and a background investigation.
