1:1 Teaching Assistant (Medical Needs)

Hours:

28.75 hours per week, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm (45-minute unpaid lunch break)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child's life? We are seeking a dedicated and caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young child in a Reception class with specific medical needs. This is a unique opportunity to provide invaluable care and educational support for a child who is just starting out in school. Full medical training will be provided, allowing you to play a vital role in ensuring the child's safety and development within the school environment.

If you have experience working with children, a strong sense of empathy, and a willingness to learn new skills, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to a child with medical needs throughout the school day.

Ensure the safety and well-being of the child, following medical procedures as required (full training provided).

Assist with the child’s learning and development, supporting them to engage in classroom activities.

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and medical staff to implement personalized care and learning plans.

Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment for the child within the classroom.

Essential Experience/Attributes:

Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational or care setting.

A compassionate and patient approach, with a strong desire to support the individual needs of a child.

A DBS check registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to undertake full medical training to support the child’s specific needs.

An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality protocols.
