Our large, independently owned multi-site Engineering/Manufacturing Company in Rochdale is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.
With over 40 years of experience, our company is a Tier 1 supplier, manufacturing niche products for some of the world's most well-known brands in sectors such as automotive and construction equipment.
The Quality Engineer role requires flexibility, with working hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am to 1:00pm on Fridays.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that our operatives and inspectors adhere to our workmanship standards.
Verify that suppliers meet our specification requirements.
Conduct audits to ensure adherence to our management systems.
Maintain open communication with customers to resolve any quality issues.
Monitor process controls in all departments.
Perform internal audits.
Conduct in-house analysis.
Utilise technical resources within the company and from suppliers to solve quality issues.
Communicate with customers and suppliers.
Identify and verify standards with customers and suppliers.
Support Senior Inspectors in resolving daily manufacturing issues.
Assist with HR tasks such as disciplinary actions and performance management.
Requirements:
A relevant degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing organisation, preferably in plastics manufacturing.
Demonstrable experience in a managerial/leadership role and leading a team.
Proficient in IT skills.
Ability to make decisions and judgments on quality levels that meet customer requirements.
Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
Familiarity with processes such as injection moulding, paint finishing, and assembly work.
Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, and Control Plans.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Audit experience.
Highly motivated and able to work independently.
