Our main business with in the group is, Enable Infrastructure (formerly BCM Construction), we have a Hire business, Resourcing business and a Design Consultancy, where this role sits.

An exciting opportunity for Senior CAD Technician to join an established and busy in house design team specialising in civil, electrification and utilities engineering projects in the infrastructure sectors.

Having secured a number of long term Frameworks with key clients, Equate Design are further expanding our Design team with Design Engineers and CAD Technicians. We have a number of positions available at various levels for design professionals who are committed to delivering the optimum design solution, building on their experience, and furthering their professional development.

Projects can typically include Rail works, ancillary civils, station and depot structures, platform extensions, substation works, drainage, cable routes and other civils, structural and electrical works.

The CAD Designer will be expected to work within a multifunctional design and engineering services consultancy team.

The CAD Designer shall perform a variety of design/drafting activities working with both 2D and 3D design, including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, creating libraries, coordinating and implementing data from Network Rail 3D model and liaising with the engineering team to develop the design.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

* Microstation and auto cad experienced in 2D and 3D

* Experience in other platforms like Revit would be advantageous

* Experience using Projectwise as the common data environment – this is essential as projects in rail need this going forward

* Experience in the railway sector to NR cad standards - essential

* Experience in other sectors such as water, highways, utilities, power advantageous

* Experience in reinforced concrete (RC) detailing

* Experience working to BIM standards and requirements – working to a BIM execution plan at least level 2

* Working within a design consultancy environment – advantageous if previous experience working within a construction/contractor environment

* Experience of draughting temporary works

* Experience working on multiple projects rather than just one single project – ability to multi-task and prioritise workload in a sequential manner
