Job title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a committed and empathetic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Stockport on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on the educational journey of a student with Special Educational Needs. You will play a key role in providing personalised support and helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs
Assist in implementing personalised education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting the student's social, emotional, and academic development
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and report on the student's progress
Support the student in developing independence and confidence within the school setting
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the student's educationThe ideal 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant will possess the below traits:

Patience: Essential for dealing with challenges and allowing students the time they need to learn and grow
Empathy: Crucial for understanding the student's perspective and providing emotional support
Adaptability: Important for adjusting teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student
Strong Communication Skills: Key for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
