Overview
The Integration Tools Engineer will be a key member of a Strategic project for future exploitation team - Integration and Design Services team who will be applying their subject matter expertise and domain experience to support the Engineering Manager and Product Owner.
The Integration Tools Engineer will understand, define, provision and develop, tools for Combat Systems integration activities. The Engineer must have the ability to maintain toolsets
Responsibilities
The Integration Tools Engineer will produce the following deliverables and outputs:
Performing a variety of systems engineering activities as part of the Combat Systems Strategic Projects team such as trials and integration by using agile practices
Supporting internal and customer facing trials and experiments, by deploying, configuring, integrating and testing Combat Systems software and its associated virtual machines/architectures and software containers
Assisting in defining the requirements, high level design, statements of work, cost estimates and other documentation as required for the successful delivery of trials to meet customer and business goals
Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority.
Deploying and configuring systems and architectures to conduct integration testing of systems in preparation for trials and experiments, including producing documentation to assist with design certification
Develop and maintain Verification Cross Reference Index (VCRI), Integration Test Evaluation and Acceptance Plan (ITEAP) and Qualification Plans.
Contribution to other project documentation such as Technical publications, operating instructions etc.
Project documentations generated, captured, configured and controlled in accordance with company processes.
Providing knowledge and support to customer trials and experiments, collaborating with subject matter experts across the business to resolve any issues
Running trials and experiments representing the business in customer forums
Qualifications
Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or have evidence of progress towards Professional Registration with a PEI.
Experienced in Defence / Aerospace / Marine or safety regulated environments.
Essential skills
A technical background in systems and/or software engineering
Ability to take concepts and specify requirements / design
Experience in running trials and experiments in customer forums
methodical and analytical mindset required to resolve issues
5 years' Experience of integration techniques and toolsets in a Marine environment.
A Basic knowledge of software would be useful.
Understanding of Requirements Management in DOORs.
Experience of using JIRA as a task management tool is desirable.
ONC / HNC / Engineering degree qualified
UK SC cleared
On site working is required
Desired skills
Experience of Combat Management Systems in Naval domain
Software background would be useful
Experience
Experience in System test development and verification activities - essential
Experience in reading, interpreting and generating technical information - essential
Experience in requirements management in DOORS - preferred
