What You'll Do:

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a senior professional to lead our site characterization/remediation group in the Richmond market through a combination of enhancing our technical expertise and business development activities as needed. This person will assist in supporting our well- established contracts with the Virginia Department of Transportation and the City of Richmond.

Responsibilities

The candidate would be a technical lead and serve as a mentor to more junior staff on all types of site assessment/remediation projects and would scope and direct subsurface investigations, evaluate environmental risk, and prepare remedial action plans and recommendations, execute, and manage fieldwork, ensure quality assurance on reports and interface with clients and regulators.

This position requires overseeing the work of others and management of small and complex projects of various types.

Environmental Senior Project Managers prepare project proposals and budgets (including complex proposals in response to publicly solicited requests for proposals), lead business development initiatives within their operating group(s), serve as a technical resource to junior staff in their area(s) of expertise, review technical deliverables, invoices, and field reports prepared by junior staff

Environmental Senior Project Managers may be required to supervise junior staff directly and if so, will be responsible for maintaining a sufficient workload for all junior staff under their supervision

This position requires the ability to independently solve day-to-day problems on projects with limited direction or involvement from executive staff. Environmental Senior Project Managers are responsible for daily on-going client interaction, maintaining a client database, and actively participating in business development and client marketing events

Physical Demands - Work may include climbing: ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. You will be required to have close visual acuity. Activities occur inside and outside, and you may be required to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications

BS or MS in Geology or a discipline related to Environmental Science

7+ years of Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related experience

Knowledge of and experience with Virginia Petroleum, Brownfields, and Voluntary Remediation Programs is highly desirable.

Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
