As a DSP, you will lead by example, bring a positive attitude, provide thoughtful and caring support to adults with intellectual disabilities and developmental needs. You will focus on providing vocational, recreational, leisure and social skills, support and instruction with a focus on community integration.

Responsibilities:
DSP responsibilties include:
Supervising members' work production which includes the operation of machinery.
Ensuring members' work quality.
Actively assisting in enriching members' lives by encouraging recreation, leisure activities, and community inclusion.
Assisting members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g.: arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, restroom assistance, etc.) and provide emotional support and encouragement.
Participating in planning, facilitation and documentation of individual behavior support plans.
May be required to intervene in crisis situations and unexpected behaviors in accordance with approved strategies and techniques.
Qualifications:
DSP qualifications include:
High school degree or equivalent required.
Valid driver’s license.
At least 18 years of age.
This is a physical job, you will need to be able to:
Push, pull, bend, squat, turn, pivot, transfer and lift at least 50 pounds
Able to navigate technology and to enter data/documentation.
Ability to pass required physical exams including the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical preferred.
Successful results of a background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing and any other state-specific requirements.
