Responsibilities:
We are searching for a talented Senior Software Engineer - Backend Developer to become part of Peraton’s Agile Cybersecurity Technical Solutions organization.
Location: Arlington, Virginia. Hybrid role, need to be able to come on-site as needed.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain backend database systems that meet the performance, scalability, and security requirements of our applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to understand database requirements and implement effective solutions.
Design and architect schemas using Neo4j.
Optimize and tune database queries to enhance overall system performance.
Ensure data integrity and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
Identify and troubleshoot database-related issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends and emerging technologies related to database management systems.

Qualifications:
Required :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 12 years of experience (or 10 years with a Master’s degree) as a Backend Database Software Engineer or similar role.
Demonstrated proficiency in database design, optimization, and administration.
Hands-on experience with SQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
Hands-on experience using Neo4j.
Proficient in Java and Python for database and server-related development tasks.
Solid understanding of database architecture, indexing, and data normalization.
Familiarity with cloud-based database services, like AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
U.S. citizenship required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation (EOD) for continued employment.Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
Desired:
Highly self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, Ansible
Has SAFe 6.0 for Teams (SP) or SAFe 5.1 or 6.0 DevOps (SDP) certification
