Position Summary
The Rental and Used Equipment sales Associate will ensure that Transcat Rentals' clients are successful in performing their required tests. They will also be responsible for helping to continue the rapid growth of Transcat's rental business through quoting, order placement, customer service and sales support. As a Sales Representative at Transcat, this position is pivotal in generating rental and sales revenue by soliciting and securing opportunities from both potential and existing customers. This is accomplished through phone and email interactions with customers, as well as in-person presentations and consultations showcasing Transcat’s comprehensive range of products and services.
Responsibilities:
Customer and Prospect Management: Maintain an up-to-date list of prospects and customers. Ensure current account information is consistently updated in the company database
Relationship Development: Actively pursue and nurture relationships with key equipment users, influencers, and decision-makers
Find Solutions: Demonstrate an adept ability to understand customers' needs and devise solutions that Transcat can profitably rent and sell. This involves thinking creatively to offer alternatives that may not align with the customer's initial request but better serve their needs and objectives
Collaboration: Work in close harmony with the Transcat Management Team to align sales strategies and initiatives
Project and Task Management: Execute special projects and administrative tasks as directed.
Sales Planning: Engage in call planning and preparation before calling, emailing, or visiting customers and client
Revenue Growth: Drive territory, customer, and account growth through increases in revenue and the acquisition of new accounts
Industry Engagement: Participate in industry events as required
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel for client meetings, industry events, and trade shows. Estimated travel 25% of the time.
Model the Company’s values to influence others to perform in an aligned manner
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Product Knowledge: Familiarity with products in Transcat’s inventory
Sales Experience: At least two (2) years of sales experience or equivalent
Independence: Ability to operate autonomously with minimal supervision in various settings
Tech-Savviness: Proficient in using computers for data management, internet research, and CRM/ERP systems
Transportation: 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license and acceptable driver history. Must be in possession of a clean, insured vehicle that can accommodate at least four (4) occupants
Reporting: Timely completion of all call reports and expense reports
Communication Skills: Outstanding oral and written communication abilities for effective customer and team interactions.
Multi-tasking: Capable of managing multiple sales activities simultaneously, including presentations, order follow-ups, quoting, negotiations, and closing deals.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
2-5 years of sales/customer service experience
