Position Overview:
Be part of a growing dealership and one of the most important teams – the service department! PLS Auto is seeking a full-service Automotive Repair Technician to diagnose and repair operational issues on various makes and models of vehicles which are generally 3 to 10 years old.
Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints (described through a manager); conducting inspections; diagnosing functionality issues; repairing diagnosed mechanical failures in a timely manner; repairing multiple system issues including electrical, cooling, braking, HVAC, steering and other system malfunctions; replacing parts and components
Understand and use standard diagnostic tools such as code readers and shop software programs to maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
Make any and all repairs necessary to vehicles including remove and replace of major components
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
Contains costs by evaluating service and parts options
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
3 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing used vehicles in a commercial service facility including working in a dispatcher type system and ordering parts when necessary
National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred
A track record of dependable diagnostic capability – references required
Must provide own tools
Work in a minimally climate controlled facility daily
Capable of customer interaction when necessary
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Physical Requirements:
This is a heavy line technician position with the standard physical demands of that position
