Responsibilities:
How will you make an impact?
Responsibilities
Will have direct reports: Coordinator of Safety and Compliance Coordinator
Responsible for the oversight of Hub safety and security compliance, reduction in damages and employee injuries through developing initiatives and training programs, reduction in TSA and CBP violations through developing training and station corrective action plans
Maintain an appropriate level of management oversight and control for airport operations in order to improve and maintain performance standards and provide the best service possible for American Airlines
Will have oversight of the safety and security at the Hub
Coordinates with Envoy Safety, Security, and Environmental on safety and regulatory affairs as well has Hub Training Department and all various departments at LAX
Understanding and performing the Safety Risk Assessment of the Hub
Safety / OSHA audits
Support station Environmental and Dangerous Goods needs
Ensure effective use of the Envoy electronic observation system (EOBS)
Organize safety committees
Conduct investigations for safety and security concerns
Conduct Security audits
Conduct de-ice audits
Conduct Damage / injury / accident calls per the Envoy Safety manual
Conduct Damage / Injury / accident investigations and complete the required Board of Inquiry per the Envoy Safety manual
Conduct Safety and Security presentations
Maintain current Safety and Security education
Jointly work with Business Partners and Vendors to ensure a healthy Safety and Security environment
Oversight of Safety and Security Compliance
Other duties as assigned by Hub VP
Must possess strong leadership abilities, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage a large number of projects simultaneously, and work collaboratively across functional departments is critical
Qualifications:

Requirements
Minimum age of 18
College degree or equivalent amount of work experience
Previous supervisory experience
Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Airport operations experience
Knowledge of airline safety policies and procedures
Prior experience dealing with safety and OSHA audits
Experience conducting investigations, compiling data, and reporting data in presentation formats
Experience with training development and delivery
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Proven work experience building constructive and effective relationships
Possess the legal right to work in the United States
Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
May be required to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekend
