The Manufacturing Product Quality Assurance (QA) Technician will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability in our manufacturing of data center products. This role involves inspecting, testing, and evaluating various systems and products to maintain optimal quality and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Testing:

Conduct regular inspections and tests on data center products, including servers, networking equipment, power supplies, and control systems to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.

Inspecting, testing and documentation of the hardware and control programming for the products.

Build knowledge and understanding of controls programming, including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and/or the Human Machine Interface (HMI)

Follow defined quality standards, procedures, and processes for testing.

Maintain detailed documentation of inspections, test results, and corrective actions.

Configure, install, and troubleshoot PC/PLC hardware, software, and customer networks.

Measure and troubleshoot 24VDC and 120VAC products. Reading and understanding of electrical drawings and schematics to assist with troubleshooting.

Test various control networks such as Ethernet, Modbus, and ProfiNet.

Compliance:

Ensure all operations comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Follow defined procedures and processes associated with the testing as part of the quality standards.

Maintain documentation for compliance audits.

Maintain confidentiality on potentially sensitive customer information.

Incident Management:

Investigate and resolve quality-related incidents and problems. Implement corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

Identify defects and deviations from standards, document them and work with relevant teams to resolve issues.

Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, test results, inspections and corrective action taken.

Prepare detailed reports for management and stakeholders.

Review and revise testing procedures as required.

Collaboration:

Work closely with IT, operations, and engineering teams to develop and implement quality assurance protocols and procedures.

Assist with installing and commissioning control systems at customer sites.

Follow up with commissioning team to address field issues.

Evaluate SOPs before field deployment.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

An Associate’s degree (A.A., A.S.) from a two-year community college or technical school with an emphasis in Computer Studies or Instrumentation and Controls is helpful but not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Desire to or Experience in programming in the Industrial Environment, implementing Industrial Control Software (Startup) and experience in dealing with customers regarding system requirements is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel will be limited and expect less than 10-15% as most activity will be in the production shop. Occasional travel to other production shops to assist with testing is expected. This may include travel to job sites to view or assist with commissioning activities.
