ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s Albany, NY office is looking for a Transportation/Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation team. The selected candidate will work with a dynamic team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private, and institutional projects with exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Our team uses its skills and experience to improve our communities with a sustainable, context-driven and integrated project delivery approach. Responsibilities
Working within a team of professionals in a variety of transportation planning and traffic engineering projects working to develop mobility solutions for all users
Conduct multi-modal related transportation analyses
Conduct safety assessments
Perform field observations and site visits
Prepare transportation impact, corridor, and intersection evaluations using a variety of tools
Design of traffic control devices
Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in transportation engineering & planning required
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Comfortable working independently as well as on a team
Detail oriented, self-motivated and committed
Critical thinking and problem solving approach
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 1-3 years of civil / transportation engineering / planning experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Synchro, ArcGIS preferred
Experience with VISSIM a plus
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Albany, NY is $69,000-$76,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
