Expected pay for this position is $19.81 - $23.31/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Ambulatory Health Information Management Services (HIMS) Department is a support group for the OSF Multi-Specialty Group. The Ambulatory Health Information Management Trainer educates HIMS support staff on how to sort, file, enter discrete medical information, and scan non-OSF medical records into the Epic Electronic Medical Record System. The Ambulatory Health Information Management Trainer will work in a team-based environment, but also work independently.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 3 years of computer experience, including Excel and other Microsoft applications, in a professional or educational setting and 2 years of training experience in small and large group settings.
Other skills/knowledge: • Typing skills at a professional level • Positive communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to be flexible in an ever-changing department • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking skills, data entry, proofreading, and accuracy.
Licensure/Certifications: N/A
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 1 year of healthcare experience.
Other skills/knowledge: • Knowledge of Medical & Surgical Terminology, as well as a working knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 Coding • Knowledge of HIPAA and medical record laws.
