Overview:

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a System Administrator III to join our USAF Air Mobility Command Global Decision Support System (GDSS) Functional Help Desk Team. The System Administrator Level III is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's complex computer systems, including server and client systems. This senior-level position involves troubleshooting advanced system issues, managing system performance, and ensuring that all configurations meet security and organizational policies. The Level III System Administrator also provides guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators and ensures that systems remain secure, available, and efficient.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the installation, configuration, and support of client and server systems.

Ensure all systems are configured according to organizational security policies and best practices.

Monitor system performance and proactively address performance issues or degradation.

Perform and manage regular system and data backups, ensuring they are viable in case of disaster recovery.

Troubleshoot and resolve advanced system errors and application issues.

Provide second and third-tier support to users for complex system and application issues.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior system administrators.

Collaborate with other IT departments to maintain system performance and security across the organization.

Qualifications:

Active Secret Clearance

Minimum of 6 years of experience in system administration or a related IT role.

High School Diploma or College Degree (preferred) with functional/technical experience and appropriate certifications.

Advanced knowledge of system administration, network environments, and security protocols.

Extensive experience with system performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

Ability to lead and mentor junior IT staff.

Requires IAT Level II Certification as defined in DODD 8140.01 and AFMAN 17-1303.
