Overview:

The Clinical Nurse Educator applies adult learning theories, principles, and innovative strategies to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate a variety of clinical and specialty-patient population focused educational programs across the organization. Working without supervision, the CNE identifies, manages, and leads large processes and initiatives across the organization within their area of expertise, to ensure effective coordination and collaboration driving optimal patient outcomes. As educational experts, the CNE collaborates and partners with interprofessional teams on the implementation of evidence-based practice into clinical practice.

Responsibilities:

Develops educational programs in collaboration and partnership with interprofessional teams and stakeholders across the organization to address the needs, regulatory standards, goals, and objectives of the organization for optimal and safe patient care.

Creates and implements innovative, engaging, and diverse forms of education and training programs for health care team members, patients, and communities utilizing best practices, adult learning theories and principles, and varied teaching approaches.

Analyzes feedback and data from education, training, and learning programs to evaluate participation, knowledge acquisition, and ultimately, program effectiveness.

Supports the implementation of new workplace technology and equipment by learning and promoting new resources to educate employees and further the organization?s goals.

Provides coaching and mentorship to promote professional growth and development of staff.

Participates in the dissemination of information presenting both internally and externally on best practices and research findings.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required: Master's Degree

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 5 years as a Registered Nurse and 2 years in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

Required:

Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
