Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting the orthodontist during various procedures and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic orthodontic practice and contribute to the oral health of our community.

Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications:

Beginning records – study models, X-rays, panoramic, cephalometric, digital photographs

Impressions (pouring and trimming models for appliances and presentation)

Photo knowledge – properly take quality intra-oral and extra-oral photos

Properly document all treatment in practice management software

Dental radiographs (panoramic and cephalometric)

Remove and place arch wires.

Place/remove orthodontic brackets and bands.

Place separators.

Effective communication with patients and parents regarding oral hygiene, compliance, etc.

Coordinate correspondence between orthodontist and general dentists.

Experience with infection control procedures.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Chairside orthodontic experience preferred

Proficient in using dental software for scheduling appointments and managing patient records

Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment used in dentistry

Familiarity with dental receptionist duties, including appointment scheduling and billing processes

Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and dental procedures
