Overview:

Position: HR Generalist

Location: SLC, UT (onsite)

Pay: $65,000 - $70,000 Annual w/ period bonuses

Schedule: M- F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The Human Resource Generalist is a strategic leader that provides comprehensive Human Resources support and guidance to employees. 

The HR Generalist will provide overall administration for the Human Resource (HR) department including initial contact for Human Resources calls and emails.  They will administer FMLA and ADA Leave of Absences, Religious and Service Animal Accommodations, Verification of Employment, HR Correspondence, Unemployment, Employee File Management, and enforcement of company policies and practices.

Responsibilities:

The HR Generalist will assess the human resources needs in areas of accommodations management, employee relations and drive the appropriate solutions in alignment with the Company’s goals and objectives.

The HR Generalist will play an integral part of the Operations team by developing effective working relationships, influencing, and guiding Field Operations to support the C.R. England Operations and Human Resources objectives of Delivering Excellence.

Intake of Employee Relations Issues for Investigations

Human Resources Reports and Correspondence

Research of legal claims including EEOC, FLSA, and DOL and partnering with the Legal Department

Accommodation Request – FMLA, ADA, Religious and Service/Emotional Support Animal Accommodations

Assists with phone calls and emails on HR Shared Service communication lines

Coach and train leaders on Employment Law, Federal and State Employment Regulations, and Best Practices

Recommendations for rehire and documentation follow-up

Must be able to work autonomously, making quick decisions and recommendations when necessary.

Must be able to determine when a situation requires the direct manager’s input or upper management and reach out accordingly.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.

Gathering and disbursement of HR mail – both from post office and emails.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field

At least two years experience in fast paced, lean human resources team

At least one year of human resources management experience highly desirable

SHRM-CP a plus. 

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
