Job Summary:

Bagging department technicians are responsible for preparing the finished prescription as well as other light warehouse duties.

Responsibilities:

Assist pharmacists by sorting medications

Check racks/bins before each delivery departure for missing meds

Complies with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

During down times, may assist pharmacy floor for additional support

Ensure all medications are scanned into the computer system (Frameworks) and staged correctly for each delivery

Ensure all medications are sorted/packed as required inside totes

Ensure that all necessary packaging documents are attached to each tote before handing it to the delivery personnel

Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPPA

Prep for the day, set up delivery totes/stickers

Prepare delivery manifests, packing slips and ancillary paperwork (MCRs, TSP notifications etc.) to correspond to appropriate facility

Retrieve final reviewed medication baskets/carts from RPh final review stations (including STATs)

Scan all medications pending for delivery using Frameworks

Scans manifests into system for confirmation of delivery

Sort all baskets/carts of final reviewed medications according to facility units, location and delivery times

Sorting medications by routes

Toting/Bagging medications for delivery

Other duties as assigned

Overtime, holidays and weekends may be required and/or expected

Ability to meet physical demands involving extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, crawl intermittently

May be necessary to work extended hours as needed

May lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
