Overview:

Registered Dental Assistant - Orthodontics

Summary: The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) supports dental/orthodontice care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. 

Pay Range: $21.83-$29.23/hr (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

Assists the doctor in procedures 

Operated x-ray equipment and takes x-rays 

Prophy teeth 

Instructs patients on oral hygiene 

Chart and treatment plan with doctor 

Sterilizes instruments 

Setup and prepares rooms for hygiene and treatment 

Take IO's 

Charting 

Sealants, if applicable 

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:  

Certification from a dental college OR 3+ months related experience and/or training OR Equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred 

BIlingual in Spanish, preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  

California Registered Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant License 

X-Ray Certification 

Coronal Polish Certification required  

Current BLS certification

Sealant Certification
