The Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is looking for a Mental Health Case Manager to provide mobile mental health crisis and outreach services during business hours Monday through Friday. MCRT is dedicated to resolving emergency situations by providing brief and intensive services with the goal of reducing the need for hospitalization, diverting from justice system contact, providing crisis intervention, and offering assertive outreach.

Job Description:

Additional duties include:

• Engaging individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis, building rapport, assessing motivation, and encouraging participation in services.

• Carrying a crisis case management caseload; connecting individuals who have multi-faceted needs to ongoing supports and services.

• Assessing individuals' circumstances to identify needs and/or determine service eligibility.

• Responding quickly in crisis moments to various community locations to provide assessment, intervention, referral, and connection to higher level of care.

• Working closely with other Johnson County Mental Health Center (JCMHC) Emergency Services teams and law enforcement to coordinate care for individuals in crisis.

• Networking with other community agencies to coordinate resources and services for client benefit.

• Completing and submitting documentation regarding services provided.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field is required.  May require KS/MO driver’s license, depending on department or agency.

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

Preferred Job Requirements:

One year of related work experience is preferred.

Education/Experience Substitutions:

Experience may be substituted for degree. Education may be substituted for experience.

In some instances, statutory or regulatory requirements may prohibit substitution of education and/or experience. 

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
