Job Overview:

A Senior Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer will have the opportunity to implement key fundamentals of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing to assess, audit and evaluate current processes within the Enterprise. Identify potential gaps and/or waste, and implement effective change to maximize value, reduce variation, etc. This is achieved through close partnerships with all internal teams. This role will serve as a key change agent to advocate, model, and promote a continuous improvement culture throughout Marvin, through the leading and executing of key CI projects. You will be responsible for guiding, training, contributing to Kaizen meetings, and partnering with various stakeholders to increase overall efficiencies, and act as a SME in Lean processes.

Highlights of your role:

Has strong business acumen and understanding of machinery, production, processes, and partners with individuals at the plant to get to know them, and better understand their challenges to be a good partner.

Partners with business leaders to identify and manage business metrics, gross margin, capacity, productivity, schedule, and delivery goals.

Utilizes tools such as inflight VSTs to analyze data, understand business processes, and contribute to project status updates.

Owns CI projects within a VST; creating and managing a schedule, measuring issues and progress, managing, and allocating resources, while collaborating across multiple teams.

Determine data utilization methods and how to develop and mine data from different systems to create an actionable plan to improve processes and procedures.

Ability to lead 1-3 CI projects and manages 5-15 events at any given time displaying effective communication, consistent precision and flexibility as different projects and tasks come up.

Proactively partners with the Quality team to ensure products are being built efficiently and develops a plan to reduce waste.

Audits established processes and procedures, and proactively addresses ways to make improvements by reaching gross margin goals (i.e., production quantity).

Contributes to the achievement of larger Marvin strategic goals such as improvement of gross margin, production quantity and/or output goals.

Utilizes knowledge and influence to gain constructive feedback from employees in different factories as well as gaining business demand across locations for partnership on lean manufacturing projects.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can):

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, chemical, industrial, manufacturing Engineering or related technical experience, MBA in engineering or related field a plus

4 - 6+ years’ experience in a CI Engineer role with hands on experience in lean Six Sigma and leading CI improvement events/projects with proven results

Green Belt or Black Belt preferred with the ability to obtain Black Belt in one year, if not yet certified.

Demonstrated experience analyzing data and leading cross-functional teams with the ability to connect initiatives to business metrics and determine a path forward (i.e., value stream mapping, identifying waste, developing labor playbooks, etc.)

Proven experience presenting findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
