As a Traffic Engineer Intern, your responsibilities will include: 

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a licensed engineer, analyze and prepare designs, calculations and drawings for a wide range of public and private sector projects.

Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for traffic signals, highway signing, and pavement markings

Approach tasks with an open mindset; propose innovative solutions to design problems

Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review by a licensed engineer;

May track and provide initial review tasks of technicians or designers

Responsible for managing timely completion of multiple assigned tasks

Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups; external communication as required on assigned tasks

Effectively present proposed design solutions as part of internal project meetings; may attend and contribute to presentations with external parties

Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns

Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports

Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goal

Qualifications:

Proficient, or ability to quickly become proficient in applicable engineering design software

Proficient in full suite of Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat

Takes pride in delivering creative design solutions accurately and efficiently

Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate and cooperate with engineers and designers

Ability to perform in a fast-paced team environment; self-motivated and possesses excellent time management and organizational skills

Maintains a positive attitude and collaborative spirit

Takes pride in delivering quality work-product with minimal revisions required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Pursuing a degree in a relevant STEM field

Must possess excellent technical and communication skills
