Overview:
Responsible for assisting in creating, designing, and executing research and analysis to facilitate Credit Union strategic plans and goals. Conducts product research, analysis, projections, and member demographic profiling. Ensures that research functions support the strategic objectives of the Credit Union. Investigates discrepancies in data and performance. Interprets research findings and presents recommendations.
Responsible for documenting, organizing and reporting of systems and information related to Business/SEG Development. Understanding and staying current with NCUA rules and guidelines. Will need to look over and submit all Select Employer Groups and or Associations letters to the NCUA for approval. Researching each SEG through business entity searches and verifying the accuracy of each letter before submission to the NCUA. Will need to follow up on any pending SEG’s and or Associations letters with the NCUA. Will need to communicate with the NCUA directly to go over any issues with our Select Employer Group letters and charter updates. Must image and track all SEG and Association letters. Will work close with Branch Systems Development to update SEG’s in applicable software applications such as LoanPro. Send daily approvals to Records and work with Membership Officer’s for final review. Responsible for weekly SEG audits to ensure all letters have been updated to our system and imaged correctly.
Create and update various reports for Business/SEG Development department and Senior Management. The Business/SEG Development Analyst will partner with IT and Marketing staff.
The Analyst will be required to have a thorough and detailed understanding of the Credit Unions Products, Services, and Solutions available for Members with consumer and commercial needs. In addition, the systems support specialist will be responsible to have an overall knowledge of the competition to the Credit Union including the products/services that we compete with.
Responsibilities:
Reporting
Ensures monthly reporting is delivered accurately and timely.
Maintain reporting databases
Documents sales calls, visits, and results
Delivers monthly updates to Business Development VP
Continually provides business intelligence to the functional departments and branches.
Provide monthly reporting/consent agendas to Board of Directors
Assist with SWAG inventory management, ordering and inventory
Assist in coordinating/scheduling outside sales meetings, agendas and taking minutes for those meetings
Assist with relationship manager tool/software
Maintain information on department internal/external web pages
Track Department campaigns/promotions – including SEG incentive campaigns/redemptions
Ability to operate and utilize software systems like Tableau
Research
Uses prospecting, cold calling, and networking to generate viable leads
Recommends and suggests solutions to grow SEG’s
Expands SEG development efforts, creates mapping and tracking over a multistate territory
Studies and researches potential SEG’s
Remains up to date on laws, regulations and guidelines regarding NCUA Multiple Common Bond/Credit Unions Chartering & Membership
Explores new markets throughout a multistate territory
Works on field of membership assignments as needed
Stays up to date on computer applications, models, and research methods
Member demographic profiling
Have a thorough understanding of competitors and alternative markets within each area BD is represented
Interaction with Others
Communicates with and makes recommendations to Business/SEG Development VP
Works with departments and branch leadership to achieve goals and objectives
Assists in activities such as new employee training and orientation along with benefit fairs, various civic and community events as needed
Regularly contacts and works with external parties, such as the NCUA
Handle incoming referrals and call requests from outside sources, internal branches and departments to distribute to appropriate BDR
Completes special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Training/Education/Certification:
High School Diploma
Four-year related college degree desirable
Required Knowledge:
Complete knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, systems, policies, and procedures.
Understands a wide range of business activities throughout the marketplace.
Organizational behavior knowledge.
Knowledge of related laws and regulations concerning SEG/Business development.
Reporting, Data entry
Experience of prioritizing own workload, the ability to self-manage under pressure to produce accurate work and meet deadlines
Good oral and written communication skills including competent writing skills, experience of producing accurate and concise documentation and communications
Ability to present information clearly and concisely so it is easily understood by a variety of audiences
Confident in own ability and judgment and willing to take the lead and be personally accountable.
Experience Required:
Two years in business management or analyst related position, preferably in a financial institution.
