Gannett Fleming is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer/Project Manager to join our Columbus or Cleveland, OH office. In this role, you will take on project management and/or lead technical responsibilities, including the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of highway projects, while also leading and mentoring technical staff.
Highway and roadway projects are at the core of connecting communities, enhancing safety, and driving economic growth. Responsibilities:
Perform engineering design tasks for roadway projects from preliminary to final design on both traditional design/bid/build and design/build contracts
Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
Prepare plans required for construction of projects
Review roadway and other highway related designs
Prepare reports required by the project development process
Complete tasks with multi-disciplined teams
Assist in writing proposals
Develop cost proposals
Manage projects in accordance with Gannett Fleming’s ISO 9001:2008 Certified Quality Management System
Foster client relationships
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio or the ability to become registered in 6-12 months
Minimum of 8-16 years of related highway design experience
Familiarity with AASHTO and OMUTCD standards
Prior design experience with Ohio Department of Transportation and/or Ohio Local projects
Hands on experience using CADD/Design Software (OpenRoads or Civil 3D) required
Strong written and oral communication skills
