Overview:
The Senior Service Engineer provides technical support via telephone or computer and completes projects related to the hardware, software and/or communications on all components of Rain Bird Pump Systems, Central Control software, and other advanced irrigation products.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical phone support to customers, distributors, and field
Complete assigned projects and provide the summary of work to the Engineering Manager
Ensure all phone support and projects are performed in accordance with the applicable Service Level Agreement
Provide diagnostic troubleshooting of pumps, motors, filters, VFDs, PLCs, communication equipment, and irrigation components to include valves, rotors, electronic controllers, flow sensors, and other
Remotely work with on-site technicians as required for installation, maintenance, or repair projects
Prepare and conduct classroom environment training at Rain Bird in Tucson, AZ, as well as remote locations as needed.
Track, report, and follow-up on product and technical issues using established escalation
Participate for one week approximately quarterly in the 24/7 on-call phone support
Identify, document, and execute improvement projects to ensure field support personnel have adequate troubleshooting and operation manuals.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
S. Degree in Engineering or technical field plus 10 years of relevant experience
Strong computer troubleshooting skills, both hardware and software
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work closely with co-located and remotely located
Understanding of integrated mechanical and electrical systems
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluency in Spanish or other foreign language(s)
Direct customer service and support experience
Experience with programming to include Programmable Logic Controller programming
Irrigation, golf course service and Golf Central Control programming experience
Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering
Experience with personnel management and project management
