As a Linux Administrator at UWM, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our robust Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based (RHEL) infrastructure. We count on our Linux Administrators to keep our systems secure, efficient, and up-to-date. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our business processes run smoothly and our internal customers remain satisfied.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems, servers, and software
Assist in server migrations to newer major versions of RHEL and adhere to security standards and compliance requirements
Monitor system performance and ensure system security
Perform regular system patching using Red Hat Satellite and troubleshoot issues as needed
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure seamless and efficient operations
Provide technical support and guidance to users
Document system configurations and changes
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
Must Have Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in Linux administration
Strong understanding of Linux OS, shell scripting, and networking concepts
Familiarity with server hardware and virtualization technologies
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
BS or BA degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience
Nice to Have Qualifications:
Mortgage and/or Financial Services industry experience
Certifications such as RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) are a plus
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages
Familiarity with security principles and implementing security protocols
Experience with cloud technologies
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
