Located at the corner of University and Mill, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU amplifies Tempe’s revitalized downtown area and brings some of the largest conference and meeting space to the city. The hotel features 330 guest rooms, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail, and almost 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space along with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Tempe cityscape. Job Description:

Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is a premier hospitality destination, offering world-class service and exceptional culinary experiences. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Banquet Cook to join our culinary team. As a Banquet Cook, you will play a vital role in our culinary team, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for our banquet events. You will ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation for all sizes of catered events.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes and specifications.

Assist in the planning and preparation of banquet menu items.

Ensure all food is served in a timely manner and meets our quality standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Collaborate with the banquet team to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Assist with inventory and stock management.

Assist with the associate dining room as needed.

Work closely with the stewarding team to ensure a clean kitchen.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Banquet Chefs.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a cook in a high-volume banquet or catering environment.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Culinary school education is a plus but not required.

Must provide copy of Food Handlers card.

Must be familiar with batch and quantity cooking.

Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.

Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds.

*This position is a full-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.

Salary is $22 / Hr.
